Sankhoun Diawara arrived at AC Milan after the signings of Gonçalo Ramos and Mario Gila, providing the Italian club with another fresh face. At 190 cm and left-footed, he brings athleticism, composure in one-on-ones, and a strong aerial presence to the defense.
Although primarily a center-back, Diawara showed flexibility by playing at left-back when needed. His versatility and timing helped Troyes secure promotion in the 2025/26 season, where he started 12 games out of 14 appearances.
Born in Paris on 13 January 2006, Diawara began his journey at FC Solitaires Paris and CA Paris-Charenton before moving to Troyes' youth ranks. He made his professional debut in the Coupe de France in November 2024 and scored his first goal a year later against UF Touraine.
He earned two caps with the France U19s in a friendly in September 2024. On the pitch, his white wristband on his left arm is a familiar sight. Colleagues and fans refer to him as 'Papis,' a nickname given by his mother from Guinea.
Diawara, who holds both French and Senegalese nationality, has yet to declare his senior international allegiance. France and Senegal remain both open options for his international future.
