Apple Fifth Avenue to host Ted Lasso look-alike contest
Apple will hold a special event in New York City on Thursday, August 6, featuring a Ted Lasso look-alike contest at its Fifth Avenue store. The event, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. local time, is designed to celebrate the return of the hit Apple TV+ series for its fourth season. This interactive fan gathering is part of Apple's broader promotional efforts around the show's latest release.
Titled the 'Gathering of the Teds,' the contest will have three distinct rounds to test participants' ability to embody the iconic character. The first round, named 'Ted Energy,' will focus on physical performance with a mandatory two-minute dance break. The second round, 'Head Coach,' will challenge contestants through a trivia quiz and their capacity to emulate Ted Lasso's persona. The final round, 'Ted Talk,' will ask finalists to deliver an energetic pep talk to the live audience.
Complete contest details are available at gatheringoftheteds.com, where visitors can find judging criteria and event guidelines. Prizes up for grabs include three custom soccer scarves for the top finalists and one pair of custom Beats headphones for the overall winner. The total retail value of all prizes combined is estimated at $300.
