Tariff ruling enables Arctic price rollback
Arctic has cut the cost of PC cooling hardware in the United States after receiving a government refund. This followed a February 2026 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, which curtailed the President’s ability to enforce import tariffs without approval from Congress. The company stated it had previously taken on tariff expenses to shield customers and is now rolling back those cost increases.
The refund came about due to the ruling on the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The court found the act does not allow the President to unilaterally impose duties without Congress's prior consent. As a result, Arctic has been given a financial reprieve, which it is passing on to consumers.
Price drops affect entire product line
Unlike previous instances where only certain products experienced price increases, Arctic is cutting prices across the entire range of its U.S. offerings. This price correction is already visible on major online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. A concrete example is the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360mm AIO liquid cooler, which is now listed for $69.89. This new price is significantly lower than the previous peak of $125 and represents the lowest ever offered since its launch in mid-2025.
Arctic’s price adjustments extend beyond just the products initially impacted by tariffs. The company has chosen to use the refunded funds to lower costs broadly. This strategy benefits all its consumers rather than only those who previously faced higher prices.
Arctic commits to supporting PC communities
The company has also announced its intention to reinvest the refunded tariff money into supporting grassroots computer communities and technology education initiatives in the United States. These programs include hardware donations and technical assistance, aiming to foster a stronger PC community.
By making this public reversal of tariff-related price hikes, Arctic has positioned itself as a pioneer among PC hardware brands. The company’s move could put pressure on others who have previously justified price increases with tariff-related claims.
