A 9-24 overall mark and an 0-8 record in TAPPS 4A District 3 required Bishop Gorman to move down a class. The Lady Crusaders lost 19 of their final 20 games during the 2025 season, including their last 10 in a row.
Coach shares goals for the new season
Bishop Gorman coach Tynnecia Malbroue said hard work and adjustments will be essential. “There are a lot of new components that we’ll be bringing in, so it’s going to be rocky a little bit,” she said, noting that developing team chemistry is a top priority this year.
Malbroue highlighted the large number of new players on the roster, stating they will need time to get used to the team’s approach. “We’re trying to do a lot of team stuff so they can build chemistry because there are a lot of girls coming in to play,” she said.
Players express hopes for the 2026 campaign
Sophomore outside hitter Kate Coan and junior back row Lainey Kimec both showed confidence in the team’s abilities. “We’ve got a lot of new players coming in, and we’re ready to figure out how to work as a team,” Coan said.
Kimec added that the group is looking forward to the challenges in the new district.
Freshman setter Isabella Flores said the team will focus on forming better chemistry. “We’re in a new district, so there are a lot of new teams that we haven’t played before,” she said.
Senior outside hitter Teresa Hall voiced optimism for the 2026 campaign. “I’m expecting a really exciting season with a lot of good team chemistry,” she said.
The team will start the season with a home game against Carlisle on August 11.
