The app’s latest update addresses complaints about the earlier redesign, with a focus on nutrition. Users can now create, edit, and delete custom foods, making logging meals more convenient and personalized.
A new quick-logging feature allows users to record calories and macronutrients without searching for a specific food. This is a response to user feedback about the previous design's inefficiencies.
Sleep and Exercise Improvements
Sleep tracking has also been refined. Naps will now appear in the 'Today' tab's sleep summary, giving a more complete picture of a user's rest patterns.
In exercise tracking, an issue with incomplete heart rate charts and maps has been fixed. The update ensures summaries reflect the entire workout duration accurately.
Cycle and Social Features Get Updates
For cycle tracking, users can now view their history grouped by year, making it easier to spot trends over time. The app also fixed a bug that prevented some iOS users from successfully sending friend requests. This tweak improves the social side of the app, which includes leaderboards and challenges.
The update, version 5.04, first became available on iOS at the start of the week and is rolling out to Android. A follow-up, 5.04.1, is now reaching Android users more widely. Google Health, developed by Google, continues to evolve based on user input, especially around the app’s overhauled design in recent months.
