The 2026 season is shaping up to be a defining moment for the New York Jets. The team’s regular-season opener is set for Sept. 13 when they travel to face the Tennessee Titans. These sessions come ahead of the two teams' Week 1 preseason matchup, set for Aug. 14 at MetLife Stadium. All seven public training camp sessions have already sold out, a clear sign of the excitement around the team's new additions and the hope for a turnaround.
No Joint Practice With Giants
One tradition that will not return is the annual joint practice between the Jets and their NFC East rivals, the New York Giants. The Giants will hold their 2026 training camp in West Virginia, marking the end of a long-standing practice. Both teams must finalize their rosters by Aug. 30, when all 32 teams in the NFL are required to cut their squads from 90 to 53 players. These decisions will shape the final lineups and determine which players survive the preseason.
The Jets’ preseason schedule kicks off on Aug. 14 with a home game against the Buccaneers. The team will travel to Pittsburgh for their Week 2 preseason matchup, and the final exhibition game will be against the Giants on Aug. 28.
