Sponsorship deal amid new Premier League rules
Manchester United has agreed to a £20m-per-season sponsorship with Betway. This deal brings the gambling firm onto the club’s training kits. The timing coincides with a Premier League decision to ban gambling and casino brands from front-of-shirt logos.
Club chief business officer Marc Armstrong said the size of the partnership reflects the global appeal of Manchester United. It shows the club’s ability to attract big names eager to connect with its large fanbase.
Replacing a previous sponsorship
The club could not find a major sponsor for its men’s and women’s training kits after their previous deal with Tezos expired in 2025. But they now have a deal with Betway. The brand is controlled by Super Group, a firm listed on the NYSE.
Other club sponsorships and financial impact
Adidas continues to supply kits in a £90m-per-season agreement. The front-of-shirt sponsor is tech brand Snapdragon, paying about £60m annually. Betway joins Malaysia Airlines, Coca-Cola, Apollo Tyres, and Cadbury as club partners.
The new deal helps Manchester United financially. This follows their return to the Champions League under manager Michael Carrick, after missing European competitions for a full season last year.
