The essentials
  • Ad campaigns now allow 30 seconds of AI-generated video
  • This is an upgrade from the previous 15-second limit

TikTok has unveiled a new artificial intelligence feature, enabling advertisers to craft longer video advertisements. The latest iteration, known as Dreamina Seedance 2.5, is integrated into the company's Symphony ad platform. Advertisers can now generate 30 seconds of AI-made content per ad, a step up from the earlier 15-second limit. This shift is aimed at allowing brands to develop more in-depth and engaging stories for their promotions.

Marketers get more space to work

The extended video length offers brands greater flexibility to create content that feels more authentic to TikTok's user experience. The platform has long been synonymous with short-form video, shaping trends and behaviors in the digital space. Now, it's urging marketers to experiment with longer narratives through specially curated hubs like the Minis Center and the Drama Center. These spaces are built for microdramas and other episodic promotional material.

AI tools get a boost in production

With Dreamina Seedance 2.5, production capabilities are significantly enhanced. Advertisers can now upload as many as 50 multi-modal references, such as images, videos, and audio files, simultaneously. This allows them to provide more precise instructions for timed creative elements, improving the overall quality of their output. The new feature follows the release of Seedance 2.0 in April 2026, showcasing the platform's ongoing evolution in AI ad tools.

Despite growing criticism over the prevalence of low-quality AI-generated content, TikTok is doubling down on its support for AI innovation. While platforms like Snapchat, LinkedIn, and others have adjusted their algorithms or tools to prioritize human-created content, TikTok is expanding its offerings for advertisers. The company already includes transparency measures to favor human content, but it's also actively aiding brands in using AI for creative and monetizable in-feed promotions.
