Xiaomi has rolled out the Redmi Projector 5, a low-cost full HD projector that aims to simplify home entertainment setups. Priced at $140, it includes features like automated adjustments and smart connectivity.
The projector includes a built-in metallic base that allows for 360-degree tilt. This design enables users to project on any wall or ceiling without extra mounting. The unit is dust-sealed and has an anti-glare texture.
Visual performance includes a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a brightness level of 400 CVIA lumens. The 1.2:1 throw ratio means it can produce screens up to 120 inches in size, depending on where it's placed.
A ToF laser sensor manages autofocus and keystone correction. This allows quick refocusing even if the projector is placed at a 20-degree angle. The hardware runs on a MediaTek MT9 processor, 1 GB RAM and 32 GB storage.
Users can control the device with a Bluetooth remote that supports voice commands. It connects via dual-band Wi-Fi, screen mirroring, and includes USB and HDMI ports. The projector also works with Xiaomi’s HyperConnect to manage smart home devices.
Available in China for 999 yuan ($140), international release dates are not confirmed. The projector is part of Xiaomi’s push to make high-end tech more affordable.
