House House’s highly praised co-op puzzle game Big Walk has barely been available for two days. Already it’s gaining new life thanks to the work of a single modder. CircuitLord, an independent developer, has begun work on a VR mod. The mod promises to add a new layer of immersive gameplay. They first shared a proof-of-concept video online. The video showed how players can interact with objects in the game world. In this early version, basic hand movement and object manipulation are already in place. This allows players to reach out and grab items in VR.
However, CircuitLord pointed out that the mod still requires some adjustments. One issue in particular is the throwing mechanic. Currently, it feels too strong. “It needs some refinement to make throwing a tad bit less powerful,” they noted. They hinted at their ongoing effort to balance the mod for optimal play. CircuitLord also confirmed that the mod aims to support crossplay. This allows players using the VR version to join those playing the standard edition. This means that as long as all players have the mod installed, they will be able to see each other’s hand movements. They will also see how objects are being handled in real time.
A precise release date for the mod has yet to be announced, but CircuitLord continues to make steady progress. Meanwhile, the developers at House House are working on their own improvements. They’ve revealed they are addressing a microphone issue in the game, which some players have reported causes their voices to sound quieter than expected. This fix is currently in development to ensure the audio experience meets the game’s high standards.
Big Walk had an impressive debut. It became the highest-rated title to appear on PlayStation Plus Essential on its first day. Metacritic reflects this success with a 94 score. GameSpot’s review has called the game one of the best co-op titles ever made. As the excitement around Big Walk grows, resources for players have expanded. These include guides on how to earn shiny items. They also include guides on how to solve specific in-game puzzles like 4166 and 1899.
