The gymnast waiting to decide
Jordan Chiles took a place on the competition floor during the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Phoenix, yet she wasn't wearing a leotard. Whether she will return to elite gymnastics is still unclear. She last competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics and wrapped up her college career at UCLA this spring. Her choice to pursue the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics is still under consideration.
While talking to NBC Sports, Chiles said, 'The wait is still on.' She added, 'I definitely am going on a lot of vacation, so stay tuned for that.
Teammates pushing ahead
Three out of Chiles' four teammates from the 2024 Olympic squad are already setting their sights on the 2028 Olympics. Hezly Rivera is striving to defend her U.S. all-around title. Jade Carey is returning to elite competition this year, while Suni Lee declared her return to training last month and could be back in action as soon as next spring.
What Chiles misses about competition
During the event, Chiles was questioned about what she misses most about competing from a viewer's perspective. I think just being on the competition floor, for sure.'
A full team in the making
Talk is growing that all five members of the 2024 Olympic women's team might reunite for the 2028 games. Chiles and Simone Biles are the only ones who haven't revealed their plans. Everyone in the gymnastics world is on edge, waiting for their decisions.
