Hinds set for third Olympic run
Hinds first entered the HSBC SVNS circuit in 2021 at just 19 years old and has since become a key figure in Australian sevens. She recently wrapped up the 2025-26 HSBC SVNS season with impressive results and is now shifting her focus to XVs rugby with the NSW Waratahs and the Wallaroos.
Duff and Hagan target Olympic debuts
Kiiahla Duff signed a new contract with the Reds following her breakthrough into the Australian Sevens team in 2025. Hailing from the Northern Beaches, she earned her international debut through standout performances in the Next Gen 7s series. Duff made a strong impression in her rookie season, scoring three tries, including a spectacular opening try on her first touch during her debut match.
Rhani Hagan, the youngest of the three at only 18, joined the full-time Sevens program in Sydney in January 2026. She excelled in Queensland's junior pathways. She is expected to debut for the Australian Sevens team in the coming season. She aims to make her mark on the world stage. She is the youngest member of the trio.
Reds leadership eyes future success
He highlighted Hinds as the key driver for the national Sevens team in the previous season. He noted her early career success. It includes two Olympic appearances at just 23 years old.
Duff has demonstrated consistent development since her debut, while Hagan is expected to contribute right away in her first full season. Walsh stressed how the contributions of all three players will be vital to the national program leading up to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
As part of her new agreement, Hinds will stay with the Wallaroos for the remainder of the international season. Duff and Hagan will begin pre-season training with the Sevens team in October. They will be readying themselves for the challenges ahead.
