Annual migrant arrival figures remain high
On Tuesday, 154 migrants arrived in three separate boats. One of these was the uncontrolled landing. This brings the total arrivals this year to 17,784, according to BBC reporting.
This figure is down 44.7% compared with the same period last year. At that time, 32,188 migrants had arrived. The forward question remains how border security will adapt to these new challenges.
