International market reacts to dollar weakness
According to data from GN auto markets/commodities: gold prices, the rally followed a drop in the US dollar. Crude oil prices also exceeded $100 per barrel. These factors boosted safe-haven demand for precious metals.
Traders watched US bond yields closely. High yield levels capped the upside potential for gold. The market awaits the US PPI report for further direction.
Domestic dealers maintain cautious pricing
SJC gold bars in Ho Chi Minh City and the North showed no movement. The buy-sell spread remained at 3 million VND per tael. This price is 4 million VND lower than the August 26 peak.
Other domestic brands held their lists steady. DOJI sold 9999 gold rings at 148 million VND per tael. PNJ listed plain 999.9 rings at 146.5 million VND per tael.
Price gaps persist between product types
Gold rings commanded a premium over standard bars. DOJI rings sold for 1.4 million VND more than SJC bars. The spread for these rings was approximately 4 million VND.
Bao Tin Minh Chau matched the SJC bar price exactly. Phu Quy listed pure gold rings at 147 million VND. The divergence reflects cautious positioning ahead of upcoming inflation data.
