Syrian gold prices hold steady at 16,100 SYP per gram

Syrian gold prices held flat on Thursday while US futures slipped 0.3% ahead of key inflation data.

Gold prices in Syria remained unchanged on Thursday from the previous day. The General Authority for Precious Metals Management reported no movement in domestic rates. Selling prices for 21-karat gold stood at 16,100 Syrian pounds per gram. Buying prices were set at 15,800 Syrian pounds per gram. The global market price was recorded at 4,408 US dollars per ounce.

International markets showed a slight decline in US gold futures. December contracts opened at 4,448 US dollars per ounce. This represented a 0.3 percent drop from Wednesday's close. Trading continued at 4,439.70 US dollars as of 6:35 a.m. Eastern Time. Gold has traded in a narrow range around 4,400 US dollars this week. Investors are waiting for US inflation data to guide interest rate expectations.

Domestic rates remain static

The authority also listed prices for 18-karat gold. The selling price was 13,800 Syrian pounds per gram. The buying price stood at 13,500 Syrian pounds per gram. No exchange rate was provided for currency conversion. The data comes from the official daily bulletin. These figures reflect the local premium over global spot prices.

Inflation data drives global outlook

Market attention focuses on upcoming economic releases. The Producer Price Index is due on Thursday. The Consumer Price Index follows on Friday.
