BitMart failed to meet its self-imposed deadline for a restructuring roadmap, appointing Alvarez & Marsal as a financial adviser without disclosing asset figures.

BitMart missed its September 9 deadline to publish a business resumption roadmap. The exchange appointed Alvarez & Marsal as its financial adviser on Wednesday. No asset figures or withdrawal timetable were released. A feedback portal will launch within five working days.

Alvarez & Marsal will evaluate the exchange’s assets and financial position. The firm will work with legal advisers to assess stakeholder issues. The review will also consider proposals from unidentified third parties. BitMart stated that further updates will follow over the next three weeks.

Advisor Scope and Stakeholder Feedback

The financial adviser will review possible paths forward for the platform. BitMart will deploy a dedicated web portal to collect user feedback. This portal is scheduled to go live within five business days. The exchange committed to providing rolling updates on the action plan.

Echo Base, a committee of BitMart claimholders, labeled the appointment a positive step. CEO Roshan Dharia noted the lack of a reserve position. He also pointed out the absence of an asset inventory. No recovery estimate or withdrawal schedule was provided.

Market Reaction to Delayed Roadmap

BitMart has faced scrutiny over its financial position since July 26. Users reported withdrawal delays after the wind-down announcement. The appointment of an external adviser aims to address these concerns. Cointelegraph reported that both BitMart and Alvarez & Marsal declined to comment.
