Robinhood begins routing football contracts to Crypto.com venues starting September 8, expanding its prediction market liquidity.

Robinhood began routing football prediction contracts to Crypto.com venues on September 8. This move adds a new execution path for event contracts within the Robinhood app.

The partnership includes a financial component for Robinhood Markets. The firm will receive equity stakes in Crypto.com and OG.com following the latter's spinoff.

Equity Stakes Tied To Valuation

The equity stakes are priced at a $20 billion valuation. This aligns with the recent investment by Citadel Securities in Crypto.com Group. The deal solidifies the financial link between the two platforms.

Trading Volume Shows Rapid Growth

Prediction markets have become a major driver of activity for Robinhood. The firm reported 13.6 billion event contracts traded in the second quarter. More than 5 billion contracts traded during the World Cup period.

Since launching prediction markets two years ago, customers have traded over 45 billion contracts. This includes more than 30 billion contracts in the first eight months of 2026. The expansion aims to handle this increasing volume efficiently.

Multi-Venue Routing Strategy

Robinhood will continue routing contracts to other venues including Kalshi, ForecastEX, and Rothera. Rothera operates as a joint venture with Susquehanna International Group. This multi-venue approach aims to improve market resilience and liquidity.

The company is also expanding its football offering to include player-specific and custom combination contracts. A new U.S. midterm-election hub is planned for later this fall. These initiatives broaden the scope of available prediction markets as reported by GN markets/crypto (en-US).
