Ghana’s Q2 2026 GDP expanded by 6.0%, a slight deceleration from the previous year driven by a slowdown in agriculture. The growth was primarily fueled by the digital economy, with the ICT sector leading all sub-sectors, while the industrial sector benefited from a strong rebound in oil and gas production.

  • According to GN markets/growth (en-US), the Information and Communication Technology sector emerged as the primary engine of this expansion, posting 30.9% year-on-year growth and contributing nearly half of the total economic increase. The report also highlights a dramatic 51-point directional shift in the oil and gas component of the industrial sector, which swung from a 29% contraction in the prior year to 22.4% growth this quarter.
