Transport and Food Lead Price Gains

Restaurants and hotels saw prices climb 3.6 percent. Furnishings and household equipment rose 3.1 percent. These categories represent the primary drivers of the current inflationary trend.
Essential Services Show Modest Increases
Education prices increased by 2.2 percent year-on-year. Health costs rose 1.7 percent. Culture and recreation saw a 0.4 percent gain. Clothing and footwear prices edged up by 0.1 percent. These sectors contributed moderately to the overall index. The data indicates broad-based price stability in these non-core areas.
Utilities and Communications Remain Stable
Prices in the communications group were unchanged from August last year. Housing, water, electricity, and gas prices fell 0.6 percent. This negative contribution helped offset the higher costs in transport and food. The decline in fuel-related costs provides some relief to the overall index.
