LA Gas Prices Hit $6.04 After 27-Day Rally
Los Angeles County gas prices reached $6.044, marking a 27-day streak of increases driven by geopolitical conflict.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose to $6.044 on Monday. This marks the 27th consecutive day of price increases. The figure represents the highest level since June 2.
Prices have climbed 40.2 cents over the past month. The current rate is $1.338 higher than one year ago. According to GN auto markets/energy: gasoline prices data, the surge accelerated after the joint U.S. and Israel conflict with Iran began on February 28.
Orange County Follows Similar Trend
Orange County average prices also increased for the 27th straight day. The cost reached $6.012 per gallon, a new high since May 29. This area has seen a 43.7 cent rise over the last 27 days.
The regional price is 13 cents above the level from one week ago. It is $1.312 higher than the same period last year. Increases in Orange County have totaled $1.376 since the start of the war.
National Averages Defy Seasonal Trends
The national average price rose to $4.316, marking the 14th increase in 15 days. This rate is 16.6 cents higher than one week ago. It is $1.141 more than the price recorded a year earlier.
Gas prices are typically lower during this season due to reduced demand. Analysts note that the national average is at its highest level for this time of year. The conflict with Iran has added $1.334 to the national average since February.
