Investor flows diverge on semiconductor gains
Foreign investors sold a net 257 billion won, taking profits after recent price increases. Retail investors bought a net 156.8 billion won, targeting bargain opportunities in tech sectors.
Institutions added 26.7 billion won, focusing on blue-chip financial and investment stocks. Corporate buybacks also contributed over 70 billion won in net buying to support prices.
Semiconductor leaders drive index performance
SK Hynix traded at 1,873,000 won, up 0.86% despite leading the HBM market. The stock consolidated gains after a strong overnight rally in US semiconductor names.
The KOSDAQ index opened 1.18% higher, supported by buying in high-tech stocks. Businesskorea reported that this technical strength helped stabilize the broader domestic market.
