NGX All-Share Index Gains 0.62 Percent

Nigerian equities posted a sixth straight session of gains, lifting market capitalization by N1.18 trillion to reach N159.89 trillion.
The Nigerian Exchange All-Share Index rose by 1,523.59 points. The index closed at 246,315.38, marking a 0.62 percent increase. Market capitalization expanded by N1,177.19 billion. This growth pushed total market value to N159.89 trillion, representing a 0.74 percent rise.
Trading activity accelerated significantly during the session. Total transaction volume increased by 67.79 percent. The value of trades rose by 22.89 percent. Investors executed 54,102 deals across 1,111.52 million shares. The total value of these transactions reached N46,018.40 million.
Volume Leaders Dominate Trade Flow
FIDELITYBK accounted for 48.30 percent of all shares traded. It also represented 23.78 percent of the total transaction value. MBENEFIT followed with 7.45 percent of volume. ZENITHBANK held 7.24 percent of the traded shares. STERLINGNG and GTCO rounded out the top five with 6.98 and 3.15 percent respectively.
Sector Performance Shows Mixed Results
The Industrial Goods sector led the market with a 2.89 percent gain. The Insurance sector rose by 1.88 percent. Banking stocks increased by 1.18 percent. The Consumer Goods sector declined by 0.74 percent. The Oil & Gas sector fell by 0.01 percent.
Market breadth remained positive with 33 gainers against 23 losers. BETAGLAS topped the gainers chart with a 10.00 percent rise. ROYALEX followed with a 9.89 percent increase. TRANSPOWER recorded the largest loss, dropping by 9.97 percent. LEGENDINT fell by 9.88 percent. OMATEK decreased by 9.66 percent.
Buying Interest Drives Market Momentum
Sustained buying interest in midcap and blue-chip stocks fueled the rally. Investors targeted shares with strong fundamentals and upside potential. Abbey Bank Plc listed 26.56 billion ordinary shares at N2.43 each. This private placement contributed to the overall market expansion.
