WASHINGTON – The American University volleyball team dismantled Iowa State on Saturday, sweeping the Big 12 opponent in a performance that etched itself into program history. This was the Eagles' first-ever victory over a Big 12 team, capping a season that has already seen them topple two other Power Four opponents. The air in the arena crackled with the weight of the moment, a tangible shift in momentum for a program reaching new heights.
Deniz Dakak orchestrated the offense with surgical precision, posting a double-double with 37 assists and 12 digs. Her leadership drove the Eagles to a season-high .292 hitting percentage.
