Executives at three major firms are increasing their personal stakes despite divergent recent financial performances and market conditions.

Uber Technologies, GameStop, and Welltower have recently seen significant insider purchases, according to reports from GN auto stocks/real-estate. These transactions occurred amid distinct business challenges, ranging from revenue misses and high capital expenditure at the ride-hailing giant to declining sales at the retailer and strong price appreciation at the real estate investment trust. The combined actions suggest management teams view current valuations as attractive relative to their long-term operational outlooks.

Uber Executives Buy Amid Revenue Miss

Uber shares have declined more than 10% in 2026, falling over 25% from their 52-week high following a revenue miss. The company reported sales of $14.19 billion, slightly below estimates, and issued cautious bookings guidance while committing over $10 billion to autonomous vehicle investments. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi and COO Andrew Macdonald purchased $10 million and $5.3 million in shares, respectively, increasing their holdings by approximately 11% and 20%. This buying contrasts with a net insider position where total selling since Q4 2025 has been less than $6 million against $16.6 million in purchases.

GameStop Insiders Ignore Sales Decline

GameStop directors and CEO Ryan Cohen acquired over $21 million in stock despite a 19% year-over-year drop in quarterly sales to $790.2 million. The stock recently rebounded after the company amended its convertible note exchange plan to pay $358.4 million in cash, reducing dilution concerns. Director Lawrence Cheng increased his position by more than 60%, while Cohen and Alain Attal added smaller percentages. These purchases occur alongside a broader strategic uncertainty, highlighted by the company’s unsuccessful $55 billion bid for eBay and a volatile share price that has fluctuated between a 26% drop in 2025 and a 32% rise in early 2026.

Welltower Holdings Reflect Strong Performance

Welltower has experienced no insider selling in the past 12 months, with one director increasing his stake by 33%. The stock has delivered a nearly 50% return in 2025 and gained more than 20% in 2026, reflecting sustained investor demand for its senior housing portfolio. The absence of sales alongside active buying indicates that management members maintain confidence in the company’s ability to sustain its growth trajectory despite the significant price appreciation. This stability contrasts with the higher volatility seen in the transportation and retail sectors.
