Swift Energy leverages RM173mil backlog for growth

Swift Energy Technology cites a robust RM173.1 million order book and expansion plans as key drivers for projected earnings growth through FY28.
Swift Energy Technology Bhd expects its earnings trajectory to be sustained by a substantial outstanding order book of RM173.1 million. According to a report from TA Research, this backlog provides a direct cushion for revenue realization, underpinning the company’s financial stability in the short term. The firm is positioning itself to convert these secured contracts into cash flow while simultaneously pursuing new business opportunities.
The research house projects that Swift Energy’s net profit will rise by 31.7% in fiscal year 2026, reaching RM16.3 million. This initial growth phase is attributed to the maturation of current projects and the company’s ongoing expansion initiatives. Subsequent years are expected to see continued, albeit moderating, growth rates of 23% in FY27 and 10.6% in FY28, reflecting a stabilizing industry environment.
Valuation benchmarked against peer Powerwell
TA Research noted the absence of directly comparable listed entities on Bursa Malaysia for Swift Energy. To establish a valuation framework, the analysts utilized Powerwell Holdings Bhd as the closest proxy. Powerwell operates in the design, manufacturing, and trading of electrical power distribution products, sharing sectoral similarities with Swift’s core activities.
Applying a price-to-earnings multiple of 16 times to Swift Energy’s forecast 2027 earnings, the research house derived a fair value estimate of RM0.33 per share. This metric serves as a quantitative reference point for investors assessing the stock’s relative position within the electrical infrastructure sector, independent of speculative market sentiment.
Industry outlook supports expansion plans
The positive earnings forecast is further supported by an improving industry outlook, which TA Research identifies as a tailwind for Swift Energy’s operations. The company’s strategic expansion plans are designed to capture this favorable market cycle, allowing it to scale its production and service capabilities in line with rising demand for energy infrastructure solutions.
By combining a secured order book with a growth-oriented strategy, Swift Energy aims to maintain its competitive edge. The absence of direct listed peers limits comparability, yet the reliance on Powerwell as a valuation anchor suggests a conservative approach to pricing the company’s future cash flows.
