MP Materials Secures Long-Term Revenue
MP Materials (NYSE: MP) reported approximately $286 million in revenue from its materials segment and $79 million from magnetics. With a market capitalization of $8.8 billion, the company has secured government-backed offtake agreements that include minimum price floors and guaranteed EBITDA for magnet output. A multi-year supply contract with Apple for over $500 million further anchors its revenue stream.
These contracts reduce exposure to commodity price volatility. The company’s ability to convert capital spending into durable margins will define its future earnings power as it expands its mine-to-magnet model in California.
Critical Metals Navigates Exploration Stage
Critical Metals Corp. (CRML) holds a market cap of $989 million despite generating only about $1 million in revenue from mineral exploration. The company is developing projects in Southern Greenland and Austria, targeting heavy rare earth elements. Its current financial profile reflects a high-risk exploration phase where funding pressure remains a primary concern.
USA Rare Earth Advances Pilot Projects
USA Rare Earth (USAR) commands a $3.8 billion valuation based on its Round Top Mountain project and related processing facilities. The company recently received an award through the DOE’s Critical Materials Innovation program to advance a pilot-scale rare earth element separations project in the United States. This support aims to strengthen its position in supplying EV motors and defense hardware.
However, the company’s future margins depend on resolving current funding and execution pressures. As with Critical Metals, the transition from development to commercial output remains the critical hurdle for USAR.
