Rare Earths Americas Explores Deeper Alpha Deposit

Rare Earths Americas is testing whether its Alpha project's mineralization extends beyond previous drilling limits, aiming to increase heavy rare earth content.
Rare Earths Americas is conducting a 13,400-meter reverse circulation drilling program to test if the mineralization at its Alpha project extends deeper than previous surveys indicated. The company’s existing inferred resource contains significant concentrations of magnet rare earths, including 322 ppm neodymium and praseodymium and 39 ppm dysprosium and terbium. These elements are critical for industrial applications, particularly in high-performance magnets.
The Alpha deposit utilizes ion-adsorbed clay (IAC) geology, which allows for recovery through simple leaching techniques. This method reduces reagent and energy requirements compared to hard-rock mining, potentially lowering both capital and operating costs. The company aims to convert parts of the current inferred resource into indicated and measured categories to validate the economic potential of the deeper zones.
Geological Modeling Reveals Depth Potential
Updated geological modeling suggests that previous auger drilling, which averaged 16.5 meters in depth, reached practical limits before the mineralized horizon ended. Consequently, the current resource estimate may be constrained by these historical depth limits rather than the true thickness of the deposit. The modeling indicates that the proportion of high-value heavy rare earths, specifically dysprosium and terbium, increases with depth. This trend suggests a higher-value rare earth basket may exist below the previously defined boundaries.
Drill hole data shows that yttrium grades exceeding 300 ppm and gadolinium grades exceeding 40 ppm persist to the bottom of multiple holes. The absence of grade depletion at these depths indicates that mineralization remains open. The company is evaluating the economic significance of these deeper extensions as part of its ongoing Initial Assessment to determine the full scale of the Alpha resource.
Environmental Studies Support Permitting Path
Rare Earths Americas has commenced environmental baseline studies to support the project’s multi-stage mining permit process in Brazil. These studies are a prerequisite for advancing the project toward development. The company continues to work on its Initial Assessment, which will provide a broader economic framework for the Alpha project. The drilling program and environmental work are being conducted in parallel to maintain momentum toward potential resource expansion and regulatory approval.
