Lennar reported Q3 2026 results with EPS of $1.23 and revenue of $8.05 billion, both below consensus forecasts. Institutional investors showed mixed positioning despite the miss.

Lennar reported third-quarter 2026 earnings on September 16, posting adjusted earnings per share of $1.23. This figure fell short of the $1.32 consensus estimate, representing a miss of $0.09 per share. The company also disclosed revenue of $8,046,120,000, which lagged analyst expectations of $8,389,932,256 by approximately $344 million.

The stock traded 1.92% lower following the release. According to data from GN markets/earnings (en-US), the immediate market reaction reflected the double miss in both profitability and top-line growth. The divergence between reported figures and forecasted numbers underscores pressure on margins and volume during the current quarter.

Institutional Positions Show Divergence

Recent quarterly filings indicate conflicting sentiment among large holders. While 499 institutional investors increased their stakes in Lennar, 522 reduced their positions during the same period. This split suggests that while some entities are accumulating shares, a larger group is trimming exposure despite the company’s market position.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. added 3,012,099 shares in the second quarter of 2026, a 29.8% increase worth an estimated $272.6 million. Similarly, Sixth Street Partners and JPMorgan Chase each added approximately 1.8 million shares, representing new positions or significant expansions. In contrast, Arrowstreet Capital exited its entire holding of 1.1 million shares in the first quarter, and First Trust Advisors cut its position by 76.5%.

Analyst Targets Remain Wide

Ten analysts have issued price targets for Lennar in the past six months, with a median target of $85.50. The spread between bullish and bearish views is notable, with UBS setting a high of $94.00 and JP Morgan and B of A Securities both targeting $77.00. This range highlights uncertainty regarding the company's future valuation relative to its recent performance.

Congressional Trading Remains Minimal

Transparency data shows limited activity from members of Congress regarding Lennar stock. Only one transaction was recorded in the last six months, a purchase of up to $15,000 by Senator Alan Armstrong on March 27. No sales were reported during this period, indicating that legislative body trading has not been a significant factor in the stock's recent flow.
