AI Hardware Leaders Report Resilient Growth Amid Market Volatility

Leading semiconductor and server manufacturers posted strong quarterly results, with revenue surges and raised guidance countering recent market sell-off fears.
Leading companies in the artificial intelligence infrastructure sector reported robust financial performance during the latest quarter, contradicting market fears of a sudden industry slowdown. The data indicates that demand for high-performance computing hardware remains intense, with top-tier suppliers posting significant year-over-year revenue increases. These results suggest that the recent dip in stock prices may reflect sentiment shifts rather than a fundamental deterioration in business fundamentals.
Nvidia, the primary supplier of AI training chips, saw its data-center revenue jump 117% to $89 billion, driven by high demand for its GPUs and networking solutions. The company’s adjusted gross margin reached 75%, highlighting strong pricing power. For the current third quarter, management projects revenue of $108 billion, signaling continued expansion in the AI buildout despite broader economic uncertainties.
Manufacturing and Networking Margins Expand
Taiwan Semiconductor, which handles advanced chip fabrication, reported second-quarter revenue of $40.2 billion, a 34% increase in U.S. dollar terms. Its gross margin stood at 67.7%, with August sales rising 53% year-over-year as newer manufacturing processes ramp up. Arista Networks also demonstrated strength, with revenue climbing nearly 38% to $3.04 billion. The company’s adjusted operating margin hit 49.9%, supported by the launch of new 1.6-terabit networking platforms designed for high-density AI data centers.
Server Vendors Raise Earnings Outlooks
Dell Technologies experienced a doubling of AI-server revenue to $16.4 billion, with its backlog for these systems reaching a record $95 billion. Consequently, the company raised its fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings per share guidance from $17.90 to $25.50. Hewlett Packard Enterprise also strengthened its outlook, with fiscal third-quarter revenue rising 34% to $12.2 billion. The operating margin for its Cloud & AI segment expanded to 17% from 7% in the prior year, and HPE raised its FY26 adjusted EPS guidance to between $3.75 and $3.85.
Sector Momentum Supports Valuation Thesis
Super Micro Computer, another key player in liquid-cooled AI servers, reported fiscal fourth-quarter sales of $11.1 billion, more than double the previous year’s $5.8 billion. Its fiscal 2027 revenue guidance of $65 billion to $72 billion points to substantial further growth. According to GN auto stocks/technology: tech stocks, these figures collectively suggest that while market volatility persists due to rising Treasury yields, the underlying operational momentum of these firms remains solid.
