These firms adjusted their outlooks ahead of the Meta Connect event, where executives are expected to detail new product features and strategic directions for the platform's AI initiatives.
Valuation Adjustments Reflect AI Momentum
Wells Fargo raised its price target for Meta to $796 from $640, maintaining an Overweight rating in a Monday note. The firm cited the upcoming Connect event as a key catalyst, noting that CEO Mark Zuckerberg is scheduled to outline the company’s broader product vision. This adjustment follows similar moves by other institutions, such as Citigroup, which maintained a Buy rating with an $800 target, also pointing to the event as a near-term driver for sentiment.
Rosenblatt Securities set a higher price target of $886 while keeping its Buy rating. The firm highlighted specific upcoming launches, including camera-free smart glasses codenamed Luna, expected to arrive this fall. These devices are designed with six microphones to facilitate AI interactions, representing a tangible step in Meta’s push to integrate conversational AI into consumer hardware.
Upcoming Hardware and Software Releases
Meta has recently introduced Muse, a personal AI agent designed to assist users with managing tasks and goals. This software release forms part of a broader strategy to embed AI capabilities across its digital ecosystem. The company is also rolling out parental supervision tools for Threads across the Asia Pacific region, allowing parents to manage privacy settings and monitor usage, which adds another layer of utility to its social platform offerings.
Technical Indicators Signal Overbought Conditions
Despite the strong price action, technical indicators suggest the stock is in overbought territory. Meta’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 78.35, indicating short-term momentum that may be stretched. The share price currently trades 22.75% above its 50-day simple moving average of $608.94 and 19.67% above the 200-day SMA of $624.66, with the 50-day SMA still positioned below the 200-day SMA according to data from Benzinga.
