Rokid launches code-free studio for building smart glasses apps

Rokid has introduced a new browser-based platform that allows users to create AI agents for its smart glasses without writing code or owning the hardware.
Rokid has unveiled AIUI Studio, a global platform designed to lower the barrier to entry for creating applications for its smart glasses. The tool, launched at IFA Berlin 2026, enables users to build spatial AI apps using plain language descriptions rather than traditional programming. This shift aims to democratize development by removing the need for specific coding skills or expensive developer kits.
The platform operates through an AI-native workflow where creators describe their ideas, and the system generates the corresponding app structure. A built-in simulator allows developers to test these projects in a virtual environment before any physical hardware is involved. According to Android Central, this approach is intended to help Rokid’s growing ecosystem of roughly 35,000 registered developers produce a steady stream of useful agents.
Building apps without code
The core feature of AIUI Studio is its ability to translate natural language into functional software. Users can outline the desired behavior of an agent, and the platform handles the underlying technical construction. This removes the steep learning curve associated with spatial computing, making it accessible to non-technical users who might otherwise be excluded from developing for wearable technology.
For those who require more granular control, Rokid offers a skills library and code assistance tools. These resources help optimize applications for performance metrics such as latency, memory usage, and power consumption. By combining ease of use with technical depth, the platform caters to both casual creators and experienced developers seeking to fine-tune their agents for specific hardware capabilities.
Testing in virtual environments
A significant advantage of the new studio is its Interactive Inview simulator, which replicates the smart glasses experience in a browser. The trade-off of simulation
However, reliance on simulation is not a complete substitute for real-world testing. Rokid’s documentation explicitly advises developers to use the simulator for initial checks but to perform a final verification on the physical glasses. This step is crucial because the actual hardware introduces variables such as sensor lag, battery drain, and optical display nuances that a virtual environment cannot fully replicate. Skipping this final stage risks releasing agents that perform poorly in practical use.
The success of this strategy depends on whether the simplified workflow produces high-quality, reliable applications. If the platform can leverage its existing developer base to create a robust library of agents, Rokid’s glasses may evolve from a niche gadget into a genuine platform.
