Logitech has introduced the G Pro X3 Superstrike, a refined version of its haptic feedback gaming mouse that prioritizes endurance over weight reduction. While the device retains the familiar dimensions and mass of its predecessor, it introduces a more efficient sensor that extends battery life to 135 hours. The update is positioned as an incremental improvement for players who value the tactile click feedback over ultralight performance.

Priced at $199.99, the mouse is set to go on sale on October 6. According to reporting from Notebookcheck, the primary upgrades focus on the internal sensor and power management rather than a complete redesign of the chassis. Buyers should note that the physical form factor remains identical to the previous generation, meaning those seeking a smaller or lighter device will not find changes here.

Haptic feedback offers customizable click resistance

The core feature of the Superstrike line is the Haptic Inductive Trigger System, which replaces traditional mechanical microswitches with electromagnetic pulses. Instead of a physical click, the button vibrates when it reaches a user-defined actuation point. This allows players to adjust both the sensitivity and the intensity of the feedback to suit their preference.

Users can select from ten actuation levels and six intensity settings to fine-tune the response. The system also includes a rapid trigger mode that reduces button travel for faster clicks. However, the practical benefit of these micro-adjustments is largely limited to professional esports players who possess the reaction time to exploit the reduced latency.

Extended battery life offsets power consumption

Logitech cites the more efficient Hero 2 sensor as the reason for the increased battery capacity. The new model offers 135 hours of usage, which is a 45-hour improvement over the previous generation. This extension is significant because haptic feedback systems typically draw more power than standard switches, making battery anxiety a common concern for users.

The mouse supports an 8,000 Hz wireless polling rate via the included dongle, catering to high-performance needs. However, the trade-off is the continued absence of Bluetooth connectivity. Users must rely on the 2.4 GHz wireless connection, which may be a drawback for those who prefer a cable-free, dongle-free setup on their laptop.

Weight remains unchanged despite sensor updates

Despite internal improvements, the Pro X3 Superstrike maintains the same symmetrical shape and dimensions as its predecessor. Logitech claims to have tweaked the weight balance around the sensor housing, but the overall mass remains similar. Curiously, the European version weighs 61 grams, which is slightly heavier than the global variant.

The company is also launching a new Pro X Control mouse pad with a knitted cloth texture designed for controlled gliding. The mouse is compatible with the existing Powerplay charging pads, allowing for continuous use during long sessions. The combination of unchanged weight and specific connectivity limitations means this update targets a niche audience of dedicated haptic feedback enthusiasts.
