SteelSeries has released the Aeon Pro, a high-end wireless controller for PC and Xbox that aims to eliminate downtime through a dual-battery system. Priced at $259.99, the device targets competitive players who need reliability over long sessions, though the cost reflects its premium positioning.
The Aeon Pro is now available for purchase, marking SteelSeries' first entry into the high-end pro-grade controller market. It joins the existing Stratus and Nimbus lines but distinguishes itself with features previously reserved for professional headsets. The primary selling point is a system designed to keep the controller powered indefinitely during extended gaming sessions.
This approach relies on a hot-swappable battery mechanism. The package includes two rechargeable batteries and a docking station that serves as a charger. One battery remains in the controller while the other stays in the dock, charged and ready for immediate use. When the first battery runs low, users can simply swap it out, ensuring zero downtime without waiting for a charge cycle.

The controller features a patented QuickSwitch system that allows instant transitions between Xbox, PC, and mobile devices.
