Nubia has released a compact cooling accessory that drops phone temperatures significantly using advanced thermoelectric technology, aimed at gamers and heavy users.
Nubia has officially launched the Ice Cream Cooler, a magnetic accessory designed to significantly lower smartphone temperatures during intensive use. The device, which began retail sales in China on September 11, 2026, utilizes advanced thermoelectric technology to manage heat more effectively than traditional passive coolers. The accessory features a distinctive white, speckled design that mimics cookie-and-cream ice cream, though its primary function is technical. It attaches to the back of compatible devices using neodymium magnets and includes clips for non-magnetic phones. While the aesthetic is playful, the engineering behind it is serious, capable of reducing device temperatures by up to 60 degrees Celsius under heavy load.
Advanced Thermoelectric Cooling Technology
The core of the device is a 36 by 36 millimeter thermoelectric plate, which actively pumps heat away from the processor rather than just spreading it out. This system works in tandem with a cold-forged aluminum heatsink and copper thermal components to maximize efficiency. The result is a cooling capacity of up to 25 watts, allowing the surface of the phone to drop as low as -18 degrees Celsius in controlled tests.
To dissipate the extracted heat, a seven-blade fan spins at speeds up to 6,000 RPM. The airflow is directed away from the user’s hands to prevent discomfort. An integrated NTC chip regulates the process automatically, ensuring the system does not overcool or drain excessive power.
