Oppo Find X10 brings dual 200MP cameras to standard model

Oppo has shared new details about the upcoming Find X10 series, highlighting a significant jump in camera hardware for the standard model. For the first time in the company’s flagship lineup, the base Find X10 will feature two 200-megapixel rear cameras. This move places high-resolution image capture in a lower-priced tier, aiming to close the gap with the more expensive Pro and Pro Max variants.

The top-end Find X10 Pro Max, however, is targeted at a different audience. It will include three 200-megapixel lenses and support for OpenGate capture, a feature that allows users to utilize the full sensor area for video. According to GSmaarena, these phones will also share an 8,000mAh battery, a large capacity designed to support the power demands of high-resolution imaging and long usage sessions.

Standard model gets high-res dual cameras

The main camera on the Find X10 uses a 200-megapixel sensor with a wide f/1.6 aperture, developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. It also includes CIPA 6.0-rated stabilization, which helps reduce blur in low-light conditions. The secondary telephoto lens also uses a 200-megapixel sensor, though with a narrower f/2.6 aperture and higher CIPA 7.0 stabilization.

Oppo says this setup is paired with a second-generation Danxia color sensor, which improves dynamic range up to 15 stops and enhances color accuracy. While high megapixel counts can theoretically allow for more detailed cropping, the trade-off is often larger file sizes and increased processing load on the phone’s processor, which may affect battery life during heavy use.

Pro Max targets video creators

The Find X10 Pro Max adds OpenGate capture, a feature that records video using the entire 4:3 sensor area. This allows editors to reframe shots after recording without losing resolution. The phone also integrates with the Blackmagic Camera app, enabling professional color profiles like O-Log2 directly on the device.

This feature is primarily useful for content creators who need flexibility in post-production. However, OpenGate capture generates significantly larger video files compared to standard 16:9 recordings, which requires more storage space and faster data transfer speeds when moving footage to a computer for editing.

Battery and launch details

Both the Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max are equipped with an 8,000mAh battery, a substantial increase over typical flagship phones. This capacity is intended to offset the energy consumption of the high-resolution cameras and large displays. Oppo has confirmed that the Find X10, Pro Max, and a third model, the Find X10 E, will launch in China later this month.

Pre-orders are already open in the region. While the large battery offers longer usage times between charges, it also contributes to the overall weight and thickness of the device. Buyers should consider whether the improved camera capabilities and battery life justify the potential increase in size compared to previous models.
