Apple has introduced a single new watch face for watchOS 27, named Siri Modular. This addition is available across both the standard Apple Watch Series and the larger Ultra models. While the core layout remains consistent between the two device classes, the Ultra version offers additional customization features that are not present on the Series hardware.

The new face focuses on a structured arrangement of information rather than decorative elements. It centers the time display and surrounds it with specific slots for data, creating a functional interface for users who prioritize utility over aesthetic variety. Unified layout across all models

Both the Series and Ultra versions of Siri Modular share an identical structural framework. The design places the time in the center, flanked by a top center line complication and a wide complication slot. Below the main time display, a row of three circular complications provides space for additional data points. This consistent geometry ensures that the face looks familiar regardless of which specific Apple Watch model is being used.

Users can adjust the visual hierarchy of the clock through three distinct style options. The first style features the tallest clock display alongside the three circular complications. The second style offers a more compact clock paired with the wide complication and the circular row. The third style presents a medium-sized clock with the wide complication. None of these modes include a display for the current seconds, which is a notable omission for users who prefer a full time readout.

Hardware dependent customization limits

While the base layout is shared, the degree of personalization differs based on the hardware. Apple Watch Series models offer font options for the clock, specifically Modern, Classic, and Rounded. In contrast, the Apple Watch Ultra includes all three of these font choices plus an additional Ultra-exclusive option. This creates a tiered experience where the larger device provides slightly more typographic variety than its smaller counterparts.

The Ultra model also supports bezel options, a feature that is exclusive to this line of devices. These bezels allow for further configuration of the watch's outer ring, mirroring the customization depth found in other Ultra-exclusive faces. For Series owners, this feature is simply unavailable, representing a clear trade-off in customization flexibility for the standard lineup.

New color palette options

Both device types benefit from an expanded set of color choices for the watch face. The update introduces several new tones, including Dark Bronze and Radiant Gold, alongside other existing options. These colors apply to the overall theme of the face, allowing users to match the display to their personal style or wristband preference.
