IDF Reports Elimination of Hamas Engineering and Command Units
Israeli security forces announced the neutralization of several senior Hamas figures in Gaza City and Khan Yunis, citing ongoing efforts to dismantle underground infrastructure and halt weapons production.
The Israel Defense Forces stated on Sunday that Israeli forces killed two members of Hamas’s engineering unit in a strike within the Gaza City area. The military identified the individuals as Hassan Ali Abu Nada and Abd al-Rahim Ahmad Khalil Khawa, noting that both were recently engaged in weapons production and development.

Security forces stated that Yazouri was responsible for directing attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. He had also worked to advance dozens of operations and rebuild the brigade’s capabilities following significant damage sustained during previous conflicts. Two other brigade members, Hudheifa Muammar and Muhammad Bahjat Rashi, were also killed in the same strike.

According to the IDF, Kandil participated in the October 7, 2023 attacks, including the killing of a Nahal Brigade commander, and had recently sought to restore Hamas’s offensive capabilities.
In a related development, Col. Omri Mashiah, head of the IDF Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade, reported the completion of the destruction of the tunnel network in the northeastern city of Beit Hanun.
