Boaosheng Cuts Silver Usage 30% with New 2D Powder Tech

Chengdu firm Boaosheng launched mass production of low-temperature silver paste that reduces metal consumption by 30%.
Key points
- Boaosheng's new 2D silver powder reduces metal consumption by 25-30% while maintaining conductivity.
- China's import dependency for high-end silver paste exceeded 90% before this technological breakthrough.
- The global market for electronic silver powder is forecast to hit 7.9 billion dollars by 2032.
Boaosheng New Materials reduced silver consumption by 30% through a new powder formulation. The company achieved mass production of this low-temperature nano conductive paste in January.
This development addresses a critical supply chain vulnerability in the electronics sector. China's import dependency for high-end silver powder previously exceeded 90% according to industry data.
Import reliance drives domestic substitution
Silver paste is the largest single material cost in photovoltaic modules. Rising metal prices have forced manufacturers to seek efficient alternatives to imported supplies.
Japanese and German firms long monopolized the market for semiconductor-grade nano silver powder. Boaosheng aims to break this dependency with its domestically developed solution.
Two-dimensional structure improves conductivity
Traditional spherical silver powder creates rough surfaces that hinder electron transmission. The new two-dimensional flake structure controls surface roughness to 1-2 nanometers.
This geometry allows electrons to travel efficiently between adjacent flakes. The result is a denser conductive network with lower material usage per unit of performance.
Market growth favors efficient solutions
Global demand for electronic silver powder is projected to reach 7.9 billion dollars by 2032. Photovoltaic applications account for nearly half of this total market value.
The nano sintered segment is expected to grow at over 15% annually. Boaosheng is currently raising financing to scale up production capacity for this growing sector.
