The Bangladesh Jewellers Association raised 22-carat gold prices by Tk 1,691 per bhori on Saturday.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 1,691 per bhori. The new rate stands at Tk 2,34,621 including VAT. This marks another increase in the local market.

The adjustment took effect at 10am on Saturday. The association cited rising costs for pure gold as the primary reason. The new rates apply to all retail jewellery sales immediately.

New rates for lower purities

Prices for other gold purities were also revised. One bhori of 21-carat gold now costs Tk 2,24,065. The price for 18-carat gold is set at Tk 1,92,398.

Traditional-method gold was priced at Tk 1,57,172 per bhori. Jewellers must include VAT in the final selling price. They cannot collect the tax separately from customers.
