Bangladesh Jewellers Association raises 22-carat gold to Tk2,34,621 per bhori, marking the 58th price increase in 2026.

The price of 22-carat gold increased by Tk1,691 per bhori to reach Tk2,34,621. This figure includes value-added tax and is effective immediately. The Bangladesh Jewellers Association issued this revision in a formal notice today.

The new rates took effect at 10:00 am on 19 September. All retail jewellery shops must apply these prices until further notice. The association cited rising costs for pure gold in the local market as the primary driver for this change.

Detailed pricing across all carats

One bhori equals 11.664 grams. The new rate for 21-carat gold is Tk2,24,065 per bhori. The price for 18-carat gold stands at Tk1,92,398 per bhori.

Traditional-method gold is now priced at Tk1,57,172 per bhori. Labour charges apply separately based on the specific design of the jewellery. VAT is embedded in the selling price, so jewellers cannot collect it separately from buyers.

Silver prices also see upward adjustment

The price of 22-carat silver rose by Tk116 to Tk5,132 per bhori. The rate for 21-carat silver is set at Tk4,957. The price for 18-carat silver is Tk4,257 per bhori.

Traditional-method silver is priced at Tk3,208 per bhori. These figures include VAT. The association’s previous rules regarding jewellery exchange and purchase remain in force, excluding specified VAT, labour charges, and stone prices.
