Chennai 24-karat gold reaches 153,420 rupees per 10 grams. Silver remains uniform at 2,34,620 rupees per kilogram nationwide.

Chennai leads the national market with 24-karat gold priced at 153,420 rupees per 10 grams. Hyderabad follows closely at 153,220 rupees for the same weight. These figures represent the highest retail rates recorded on September 13, 2026. The price spread between the most expensive and cheapest cities is minimal. Delhi stands at the lower end of the spectrum with 152,710 rupees per 10 grams.

Silver prices show no regional variation across the six major metropolitan areas. The rate is fixed at 23,462 rupees per 100 grams in all locations. This translates to 2,34,620 rupees per kilogram. The uniformity suggests a centralized pricing mechanism for silver bullion. Retailers in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai quote identical rates.

Retail jeweller pricing remains consistent

Major jewelry chains maintain stable per-gram prices despite city-level variations. Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds both list 22-karat gold at 14,155 rupees per gram. Tanishq quotes a slightly higher rate of 14,200 rupees per gram for 22-karat gold. The 24-karat segment shows a wider gap between brands. Malabar Gold & Diamonds prices 24-karat gold at 15,442 rupees per gram. Tanishq sets its 24-karat rate at 15,491 rupees per gram.

Joyalukkas applies a uniform 22-karat price across nine states. The rate holds at 14,155 rupees per gram in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, and Gujarat. Karnataka, Kerala, and Maharashtra also see the same price point. Odisha, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu maintain identical 22-karat rates. This consistency indicates standardized procurement and pricing policies across these regions.

Factors driving precious metal valuations

International gold benchmarks and the US dollar exchange rate influence local prices. Domestic demand for jewelry, particularly ahead of festive seasons, adds upward pressure. The difference between 24-karat and 22-karat prices reflects the purity premium. 24-karat gold is considered the purest form of the metal. 22-karat gold includes alloyed metals for greater durability in jewelry applications.

GN auto markets/commodities: silver prices data confirms the stability of silver valuations. The lack of divergence in silver rates contrasts with the slight variations in gold prices. Gold prices are sensitive to regional market conditions and brand-specific costs. Silver pricing appears less affected by local retail dynamics. The overall bullion trend remains the primary driver for both metals.
