Silver gains 2.34% as gold extends recovery to 4,447

Silver futures climbed 2.34% on Wednesday, closing at 67.27. Gold gained 1.07% to finish the session at 4,447. Both precious metals posted solid daily gains.

Silver futures closed Wednesday at 67.27, up 1.54 or 2.34% from the previous session. Gold futures added 47 to the day's total, rising 1.07% to reach 4,447. These gains marked a strong performance for the broader precious metals complex.

Gold moved back above key technical levels, including the 100-day moving average. The price also reclaimed the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level. This level was measured from the all-time high of 4,755 down to the recent low near 4,000.

Silver breaks above Ichimoku cloud

Silver closed above its Ichimoku cloud for the first time since August 7. The metal is now attempting to overtake the conversion line. This line acts as a significant support or resistance level in technical analysis.

Silver remains 3.50 below its 23.6% Fibonacci retracement. That level sits at 5% below the current price. The retracement was calculated from the all-time high of 120 down to the recent low of 54.70.

Gold holds higher conversion line

Gold’s conversion line is positioned far above current pricing at 4,500. The metal has maintained its position above the Ichimoku cloud. The next major resistance target for gold is at 4,474.

Over the last 55 days, gold has gained 10% in value. Silver has added 23% over the same period. Silver’s recovery has been faster in percentage terms, showing a distinct V-shaped pivot.

Ratio declines to 65.37

The gold-to-silver ratio fell 1.25% on Wednesday to 65.37. The ratio has dropped nearly 10% from its high of 72.55 on July 17. This decline indicates silver is closing the gap with gold.

Technical support for the ratio is located at 65.13. If that level fails, the next support area is at 62.82. The ratio bottomed at approximately 43 in January of this year.
