Zodiac Gold Inc. reported a 1-meter interval grading 158 g/t Au at the Lewis North target in Liberia. The company plans to commence diamond drilling at the site immediately.

Zodiac Gold Inc. released trenching data from the Lewis North target on September 15, 2026. The company reported 58 meters at 3.15 grams per tonne of gold in trench LWT003. This interval includes 11 meters at 15.40 g/t Au. A single meter within that zone graded 158 g/t Au. These figures mark a significant increase in grade compared to previous tests at the site. The new trench is located 310 meters west of the LWT001 excavation. This position extends the interpreted mineralized zones along the strike.

Three trenches have identified broad gold mineralization across the area. The combined strike length exceeds 700 meters within the 1.8-kilometer gold-in-soil anomaly. Zodiac has already excavated and sampled trench LWT005, located 375 meters further west. This step tests for continued mineralization along the trend. The company intends to begin diamond drilling at Lewis North this week. This follows the start of drilling at the parallel Lewis South trend in July.

Geological Host Rocks Favor Gold Formation

The high-grade interval at LWT003 occurs within weathered banded iron formation. This rock type is a favorable host for gold in greenstone terranes. Additional mineralization was found in amphibolite. This host rock recurs along the 16-kilometer Monterra Trend. The combination of width and grade supports the target status of Lewis North.

Zodiac is executing a 3,600-meter trenching program across the Monterra Trend. The goal is to advance priority anomalies toward drill testing. Lewis South previously returned 84 meters at 0.51 g/t Au. That interval included 30 meters at 1.04 g/t Au. The company asserts that Liberia offers a stable regulatory environment for mining operations.

West African Gold Belt Context

West Africa hosts over 450 million ounces of discovered gold. The region contains more than 70 deposits exceeding one million ounces. It is the largest Paleoproterozoic gold-producing region globally. Liberia remains one of the least explored areas within this belt. GN auto markets/commodities: gold prices notes that exploration activity remains a key sector driver. Management emphasizes the strategic importance of location in the company's success strategy.
