Bitcoin trades above $80,914, up 5.9% on the day. Ethereum, XRP, and Dogecoin gain between 6% and 7%. The market rebounds after the Federal Reserve's first rate hike since 2023 and the Senate's failure to pass the CLARITY Act.

Bitcoin now trades above $80,000. The asset gained 5.9% to reach $80,914 on Binance at 18:07 UTC. This price level sits within 2% of Citi's 12-month target of $82,000. The broader crypto market follows this lead with broad-based gains.

Ethereum rose 6.4% to $2,603. XRP gained 7.3% to $1.39. Dogecoin added 7% to $0.0874 on Bitstamp. These moves occur two days after the Federal Reserve raised rates. The Senate also failed to advance the CLARITY Act three days ago.

Regulatory Outlook Eases Market Fears

Dan Morehead of Pantera Capital noted that regulatory bodies are acting. The SEC and CFTC are implementing rules similar to the failed bill. This reduces the uncertainty that previously weighed on prices. The market interprets these actions as a positive signal for compliance clarity.

Macro conditions also improved. The 10-year Treasury yield gave back some of its rise after the Fed decision. Oil prices pulled away from recent highs. The Bank of Japan's 25 basis point hike did not trigger a new selloff. These factors reduced pressure on risk assets.

Derivatives Data Shows Reduced Volatility

Short-dated implied volatility for Bitcoin and Ether fell sharply. Andrew Melville of Block Scholes confirmed this drop in a research note. Event risks passed without lasting damage to sentiment. Traders are positioning for further upside rather than downside protection.

Technical indicators support the bullish case. The 50-day EMA at $73,986 remains above the 200-day line at $73,234. The golden cross formed on September 12 is intact. This alignment has historically preceded sustained price increases in the asset class.

Key Resistance Levels Determine Next Move

Bitcoin faces resistance at $82,614. A daily close above this level opens a target zone of $98,068 to $99,486. This represents a 21% to 23% gain from current levels. Failure to break through would likely see prices revert to the range floor.

Ethereum tests its range top at $2,616. A daily close above this level targets $2,757 first. Resistance is light until $3,371. XRP reclaimed its 200-day EMA at $1.3538. Dogecoin remains the weakest of the four assets, trading below its 200-day average.
