Ethereum Nears Million Threshold as XRP Lags Behind

A 400-ETH stake is within 1% of $1 million, while XRP would need a 72.5x surge to match the milestone.

Ethereum holders with 400 coins were within 1% of a million-dollar valuation last month. XRP would need to reach $100 per coin to offer the same return on a 10,000-coin stake.

As of September 10, 2026, XRP trades at $1.38 and Ethereum at $2,469. These prices define two distinct paths to seven-figure wealth by 2028. The gap between the two assets is driven by their current unit values.

Accumulation Costs Differ Sharply

One million dollars equals 724,638 XRP at the current price. The same amount requires only 405 Ethereum. Building an XRP position of that size is feasible through regular monthly purchases. Acquiring 405 Ethereum upfront costs nearly a million dollars, which eliminates the need for a 2028 growth target.

GN markets/crypto (en-US) notes that XRP is up 36% over the past 30 days. Ethereum has gained 31.16% in the same period. Both assets remain down for 2026, with XRP falling 24.43% and Ethereum 16.86%.

Price Targets Require Extreme Growth

A 10,000 XRP holding reaches $1 million only if the price hits $100. This level is 72.5 times the September 10 price. It is also 26 times the all-time high of $3.84 set in 2018. Reaching this valuation would give XRP a market capitalization of $6.1 trillion.

In contrast, 100 Ethereum reaches the million-dollar mark at $10,000 per coin. This target is 4 times the current price and roughly twice the 2025 record of $4,950. A 400-ETH stake already crossed the threshold in August 2026.

Market Capitalization Context

XRP at $100 would exceed the combined value of Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia. This scenario remains hypothetical and far from current market conditions. Ethereum’s required $10,000 price is more constrained by its existing valuation. The difference in multiples stems directly from the $1.38 versus $2,469 starting prices.
