Analysts track large ether transfers
PeckShield flagged a single transaction of 23,639 ether. This amount was valued at roughly $65 million.
EmberCN reported six separate wallets sent the total sum. They used the Arkham platform to trace the movements.
The discrepancy reflects how different tools aggregate on-chain data. One alert captured the largest single movement only.
Market maker role remains unclear
Transfers to market makers often precede large sales or hedging. This avoids immediate pressure on public exchange order books.
Wintermute did not respond to CoinDesk requests for confirmation. The FTX Recovery Trust has not issued a public statement.
The firm could hold the assets as inventory. It might also execute a sale over an extended period.
Creditor distributions continue despite transfer
The FTX Recovery Trust is executing its Chapter 11 plan. A $2.2 billion payout is scheduled for March.
