Altcoin market cap reaches $1.19 trillion while Bitcoin dominance stalls at 59.7%. US Bitcoin ETFs recorded $999 million in daily inflows.

Key points

  • Glassnode’s Altcoin Cycle Signal hit 81.25, confirming an altseason phase where altcoins outperform Bitcoin.
  • Altcoin market cap reached $1.19 trillion, up 33% since August 19, while Bitcoin dominance stalled at 59.7%.
  • US Bitcoin and Ether ETFs recorded $999 million and $270 million in daily inflows, respectively, on Monday.

Glassnode’s Altcoin Cycle Signal reached 81.25 on Monday, marking a definitive shift toward altcoin outperformance. This level indicates that the relative growth of the top 250 non-stablecoins now exceeds Bitcoin’s trajectory.

The combined market capitalization of altcoins hit $1.19 trillion on Tuesday, the highest point since late January. Bitcoin’s dominance of the total crypto market sat at 59.7%, barely changing from 59.2% on August 19.

Altcoin Valuations Reach New Peaks

Altcoins gained 33% in market value since the August 19 US Treasury bond intervention. Glassnode noted that this rally ignited full breadth across the market, unlike the previous August surge.

Traders describe the current Bitcoin dominance level as a state of complacency. Matthew Hyland argued that dominance set a macro high in June 2025 and has failed to progress since.

ETF Inflows Show Broad Demand

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $999 million in net inflows on Monday, the highest daily total since October 2025. Ether ETFs simultaneously absorbed $270 million, signaling a blanket rebound in institutional demand.

Bitcoin ETF investors hold an aggregate cost basis just below $86,000. The BTC/USD pair is currently testing this price level to establish firm support for the broader market.

Market Structure Shifts Persist

Cointelegraph reported that the signal reflects a temporary strength in altcoin growth relative to Bitcoin. The methodology remains undisclosed, but the flip confirms a rotation in capital flows.

The narrow range of Bitcoin dominance suggests a stalemate in leadership. Investors remain unwilling to accept Bitcoin’s lack of progress against the wider altcoin sector during this cycle.
