S&P Global buys blockchain security firm OpenZeppelin. The code supports $37 trillion in transfers. Terms remain undisclosed.

Key points

  • S&P Global is acquiring OpenZeppelin, which maintains smart-contract code supporting $37 trillion in value.
  • Acquisition terms are undisclosed, and the $37 trillion figure refers to transferred value, not the price.
  • Remittix has sold 83.23% of its presale with RTX priced at $0.21 before the next phase.

S&P Global has agreed to acquire OpenZeppelin, a blockchain security specialist. The deal brings smart-contract assessment into a major ratings and data group. Financial terms for the acquisition were not disclosed to the public.

The widely cited $37 trillion figure is not the purchase price. It represents the total value transferred by contracts using OpenZeppelin code. This distinction is critical for understanding the scale of the underlying technology.

Institutional adoption of blockchain security

OpenZeppelin maintains widely used open-source smart-contract libraries. The firm has completed more than 900 security engagements for clients. It is expected to remain a separate business unit under S&P Global.

The public contract library will remain available after the acquisition. Closing conditions for the transaction are still pending. This move signals that blockchain security is becoming standard institutional infrastructure.

S&P Global recently participated in an $110 million funding round for Kaiko. Kaiko is a data provider for crypto assets. These combined moves show a push for data and security in tokenized markets.

Remittix targets mass consumer payments

Remittix is building a platform for mass adoption of blockchain payments. The project has completed a CertiK audit to verify security. The total supply of its RTX token is capped at 1.5 billion units.

The network settles over 50 cryptocurrencies into more than 30 fiat currencies. It uses compatible bank rails for final settlement. This design aims to simplify international transfers and business payments.

Presale progress and product ecosystem

Remittix reports that 83.23% of its presale has been sold. The current price for RTX is set at $0.21 per token. The next phase is announced at a price of $0.23.

The listing date will be revealed after a $32 million milestone is hit. The campaign is currently moving toward 90% completion. This progress indicates strong investor interest in the project.
