Nine Entertainment Shorts Spike as Gordon Creeps to 25.94%

Short interest in Nine Entertainment jumped 1.67% last week. Lotus Resources bears also rebuilt positions.

Short interest in Nine Entertainment rose 1.67% to 4.34% during the week ending September 7, 2026. The increase follows a 16% drop in the share price since August 27.

Lotus Resources short interest climbed 0.89% to 15.92%. Corporate Travel saw the largest decline, with short interest falling 1.69% to 2.55%.

Gordon vehicle triggers short pile-on

WIN Group bought 47 million Nine Entertainment shares between August 27 and September 3. This acquisition lifted its voting power from 22.98% to 25.94%.

The move sits just under the limit for holders above 19% to acquire shares every six months. Bruce Gordon’s vehicle is now out of the market until March.

The stock has fallen 16% since the announcement on Friday, September 4. Short interest in the name is now at its highest level in months.

Lotus bears rebuild after unwind

Lotus Resources short interest had unwound from 22% in late July to 12% by early August. This followed a 57% one-day collapse when the stock returned from suspension.

The company completed a $60 million raise at 22 cents, a 66% discount. This action roughly doubled the shares on issue.

Lotus then surged 43% over the next two sessions. Bears took profits, but short interest has since rebuilt to 15.92%.

Corporate Travel short settles at 17 cents

Corporate Travel short interest fell from around 9% to 2.55% this year. The stock was halted for much of this period.
