Total trading turnover for the session reached SR3.6 billion, equivalent to $960.4 million. Investor sentiment skewed negative as 180 listed stocks fell while only 79 advanced, according to arabnews.jp.
Parallel market shows limited losses
The MT30 Index also declined, falling 0.55 percent to finish at 1,435.69. Meanwhile, the Nomu parallel market slipped 41.14 points, a 0.19 percent decrease.
Nomu closed at 21,472.54 with a narrower negative spread than the main board. In that segment, 23 stocks rose while 46 shares ended the day in the red.
Top gainers offset broad weakness
Ayyan led the market with an 8.82 percent surge to close at SR9.25. Equipment House followed closely, rising 5.8 percent to reach SR27.72 per share.
Entaj shares climbed 5.21 percent to SR22.40, while Alkathiri added 4.76 percent to end at SR1.10. These gains provided isolated pockets of strength amidst the broader sell-off.
Laggards and insurance sector moves
Stock 2P recorded the largest loss, dropping 5.85 percent to trade at SR5.63. Cenomi Centers and Alarabia also underperformed, falling 5.76 percent and 5.12 percent respectively.
Bupa Arabia received final approval to sell compulsory tourist visa insurance, yet its shares fell 1.08 percent to SR155. The approval allows the company to market the product to individual customers in the Kingdom.
